Three casinos. Three bodies. Three days.

After a string of brutal murders in Las Vegas, Cassie Hobbes and the Naturals are called in to investigate. But even with the team’s unique profiling talents, these murders seem baffling: unlike many serial killers, this one uses different methods every time. All of the victims were killed in public, yet the killer does not show up on any tape. And each victim has a string of numbers tattooed on their wrist. Hidden in the numbers is a code—and the closer the Naturals come to unraveling the mystery, the more perilous the case becomes.

Meanwhile, Cassie is dealing with an equally dangerous and much more painful mystery. For the first time in years, there’s been a break in her mother’s case. As personal issues and tensions between the team mount, Cassie and the Naturals will be faced with impossible odds—and impossible choices.

My Thoughts

I loved the previous book but this one was even better if it’s possible.  The plot thickens and the characters develop onto a whole new level. I like how every book delves into the past of one of the kids from the program beside the main mystery making the stories even more fulfilling.

The connection between the books in the series is really masterfully done, how they have their own plot but at the same time they slowly but surely build upon each other creating a beautifully woven complex storyline. All in is far superior to its predecessors, the plot is really clever and cunning and the emotions run so much deeper than previously.

We get a lot of new information and quite a few answers for questions previously surfaced mainly regarding Cassie but Sloane gets the stage too for a while. Also there is a huge revelation or more like discovery in this story that’s going to impact our characters moves in the future. The connection between Cassie and the others became even stronger than before and they became bolder and take even more risks. Since they face a new challenge, working on active cases their motivation and need to prove themselves is stronger than ever. But I like that they are not perfect and make quite a few mistakes but still try their best. The romance still doesn’t overshadows the mystery but its stronger and more present.

This is a really impressive story with a lot of meaningful hidden message. I’m really satisfied with this story and really glad that found it. The author shows her talent at the fullest in the series.

I’m 23 years old and currently I’m studying civil engineering. In my spare time (which I have quite a lot) I’m ususally reading or watching my favourite TV shows, but I like drawing too. I read almost anything but my favourit genres are New Adult and Paranormal Romance. I quite like werewolfs stories, they are my sweethearts. I couldn’t choose a favourite book, but I really like Ilona Andrews, Bec Botefurh and Chantal Fernando’s books. But I read a lot so I have to many favoured books that it’s just impossible to choose from.
