Synopsis: The first time I met Brody Easton was in the men’s locker room. It was my first interview as a professional sportscaster. The famed quarterback decided to bare all. And by all, I don’t mean he told me any of his secrets. No. The arrogant ass decided to drop his towel, just as I asked the first question. On camera. The Super Bowl MVP quickly adopted a new hobby—screwing with me. When I pushed back, he shifted from wanting to screw with me, to wanting to screw me. But I don’t date players. And it’s not because I’m one of the few women working in the world of professional football. I’d date an athlete. It’s the other kind of player I don’t date. You know the type. Good looking, strong, cocky, always looking to get laid. Brody Easton was the ultimate player. Every woman wanted to be the one to change him. But the truth was, all he needed was a girl worth changing for. Turned out, I was that girl. Simple right? Let’s face it. It never is. There’s a story between once upon a time and happily ever after… And this one is ours.

I read books from Vi Keeland a while back but I think I forgot how much I love her writing. This story reminded me of it and I think a Vi Keeland reading marathon is in order.
Baller is a fantastic sport romance with a spot on chemistry between the main characters, a lot of humor and an enjoyable plot. The story is really sexy and there isn’t too much drama in it to overtake the storyline and the simple, pure interactions between the main protagonists. Vi Keeland created truly interesting and instantly loveable characters. There a lot of entertaining dialogues and funny scenes in the book between Delilah and Brody.
Delilah is sportscaster who knows every in and out of the sport world since she grew up in it. She is exceptionally good at her job and likes to do it but being a woman in a mainly male dominated world makes it hard and challenging. When she meets Brody, a famous quarterback, he leaves a lasting impression on her. She tries to resist him because of his reputation and of course for the sake of her job. But honestly doesn’t stand a chance.
Brody is a sexy, smart and charming guy. He is nothing like his image. When he wants something he fights for it. His cocky personality causes him some problems but after you peel back the outer layer you can see he is a caring and loyal person with a big heart.
I really liked how Brody and Delilah relationship worked. They trust each other and work together to solve their problems. Even after Brody past comes knocking. Delilah stands beside him and gives him the time to process his emotions even so it’s hard for her. She knows about Brody deep seated feelings and connection to Marlene and her granddaughter. She feels insecure and conflicted but tries to support Brody the best she can.
This book is absolutely beautiful. I love how the secrets unravel and the relationship develops. Baller has a satisfying ending, it doesn’t leave any questions. I’m glad I read it.
